Brushed & Natural Oiled Oak Flooring: Popular Doesn’t Mean The Same!

For many people, when you are choosing an aspect of your home to change or for new homes, install, you want to have something unique to you and your style. So why would you want to choose the most popular finish available for your oak flooring? For Oak Floors Online, popular doesn’t mean you will have the same as everyone else, it means that you can rest assured that our brushed and natural oiled oak flooring will compliment your home or venue perfectly and work in line with your tastes, with many happy customers who tell us so!

Brushed & natural oiled solid oak flooring is a stunning oak floor for any home or venue such as restaurant or pub and this is why it is our most popular finishing across our oak flooring product range for both solid oak flooring and engineered oak flooring.

We appreciate that you will want to choose the right flooring type for you and your home. Perhaps you want the option of having underfloor heating in your home or maybe you prefer to have solid oak flooring – this is why we have made the brushed and natural oiled finish available in both of our solid and engineered oak flooring ranges.

The brushed and natural oiled finish of this floor is achieved by ‘brushing’ the face of the planks during manufacture to remove the slightly softer fibres of the oak. Once the oak has been brushed and the softer fibres have been removed, it is oiled with natural wax oil which creates a smooth finish to the oak flooring. After the application of wax oil to the floor board, the brushing that happened during manufacture enhances the beautiful grain features of natural oak and provides a slightly textured surface.

This finish is very easy to maintain and should only ever require a light sanding and another coat of wax oil to bring it back to pristine condition when required (depending on wear and tear – see our care & maintenance guide for more information).

Natural features such as knots and rivets are filled in on our brushed and natural oiled oak flooring which creates a fuller, more blended look but still provides an accent of the natural features in the overall look of the flooring. Our most popular finish has a lot of unique features – no two floors will look exactly the same and you can customise the look of your floor to coordinate with existing (or new!) room décor as suits you.

Scratches and marks don’t show up as much as on a smooth finish of brushed and natural oiled and because the wax oil colour is natural, if you ever want to darken the colour you can apply another coat of wax oil in whatever colour you choose to achieve the exact finish that you want.

Brushed and natural oiled oak flooring is one of the most versatile oak floors we stock and looks great in any room, easily co-ordinating with and complementing your existing décor. If you’re looking for flooring that is hard wearing and easy to maintain with a great look that you can change simply by adding another coat of wax oil, then brushed and natural oiled oak flooring is for you.

Popular because of its incredible versatility between rooms within your home to rooms within a venue such as a hotel or restaurant, brushed and natural oiled flooring is much more than a “one size fits all” solution to flooring.

A favourite with returning customers who want to install brushed and natural oiled oak flooring in other rooms in their home and also landlords who are renovating, this floor is popular for the subtle differences that work in all environments.
