Description
Our 15 x 189 unfinished square edge mixed grade engineered oak is available as either micro beveled or square edged, meaning that by ordering the square edged product your finished floor will be seamless without the small ‘v’ groove that the bevelled edge provides.
One of the best features of our unfinished engineered oak flooring is that you have the luxury of choosing your own finish for the floor that suits your own personal taste and the room in which the floor will be installed. This flooring is popular as you can create a wide variety of looks by finishing the flooring on site with a finish of your choice.
This unfinished square edge mixed grade engineered oak flooring is 15mm thick, which is made from 11mm of Eucalyptus plywood underside that is bonded to a full 4mm French oak wear layer and is 189mm wide. The flooring is single strip oak, which shows off beautifully the extra width that is available to you when you order from our engineered oak flooring product range.
Our unfinished 15x189mm engineered oak flooring is suitable to be installed over under floor heating. The engineered boards do not have a softwood core and because of this, they are strong enough to be fitted using any of the three common methods: glue down, nail down or float.
Your unfinished square edge mixed grade engineered oak floor is sanded ready to receive the finish of your choice after installation. You can create whatever colour and style of finish you want for your room simply by the addition of a product such as wax oil, in whatever colour you want.
Unfinished engineered oak flooring allows you to create a variety of looks; from a contemporary, modern look in your home or venue through to an aged, well-worn and used look for a more vintage appeal.
This flooring is particularly popular in rooms with large staircases and other similar features because the floor can be easily coordinated to match up with the rest of the room. By finishing the flooring on site in your home or venue, a “seal” is achieved between each board, which is particularly useful for areas where spillages may occur.
By choosing our unfinished engineered oak flooring, you are able to create a bespoke look to your flooring, giving you increased flexibility in changing the look of your room and providing you with many years of use and service from a high quality engineered oak floor.
Installation & Maintenance

We recommend that all floors are either floated, glued or nailed/screwed down. For a full outline for installation of Oak Flooring, please visit our dedicated Installation Guide.
Storage – Flat and Dry Only
As wood is a natural product it is important that it is stored correctly. We recommend that your new products are stored flat and in a dry area. We recommend that all packaging is kept on the products or removed for inspection and then re applied for storage (please note that returns need to be in the original packaging, unopened). Again, as wood is a natural product it is susceptible to changes in each room’s atmosphere and as such, please be mindful of this and take care to avoid damp areas or newly plastered rooms etc. Ideally, storage will be in the same room as installation.
Flooring Maintenance – Care Guide
You’ll know when your wood floor needs cleaning, as the dust and dirt is visible (unlike carpeting that hides its dirt below the surface) a simple vacuum, sweep or dry mop is all that’s needed to clean day-to-day dust and loose dirt.
Dirt and grit act like sandpaper on the surface of a wood floor. As 80% of dirt comes from outside, place sturdy doormats and rugs at entry points and use furniture pads under chair legs and heavy furniture.
Consider a ‘no-high-heels’ policy and be aware of pets’ bad habits and scratching. Never place potted plants directly on a wood floor. For a thorough and regular (every couple of months) ‘refresher’ clean, use a recommended after-care cleaning/maintenance product such as Wash & Care and you’ll bring a new lease of life to your floor.
Delivery Information

What to Expect
Each postcode is allocated to a zone & depending upon the zone in which a postcode sits, will be how much delivery is. Each pallet delivered, takes 2 working days from order to delivery. For further shipping costs, please see our Shipping Cost page

Each box of flooring purchased has a weight, to which if you require 1 boxes of flooring, the average weight per box is 27kg (depending on the thickness and type of product purchased). ½ Boxes will be delivered via our Carrier Parcel Force Worldwide & you will be provided with a Tracking ID & delivery time frame via text & email.

If you were to order more than 2 boxes, the cost for shipping will be based on a full pallet rate. This will be the same for 3 boxes as it is for 30 boxes. Anything over and above 1000kg will incur a two-pallet charge rate.
Because we use an external courier network for our nationwide deliveries, it is important that you arrange for somebody to be present on the day of delivery to sign for the goods being delivered and accept your new oak floor as being in top condition.

Typically, couriers are only insured to deliver ‘kerbside’ (meaning off the side of their vehicle). Having said this, some drivers will help to carry the cartons of flooring into houses and garages but we cannot guarantee this will be the case with every driver, and we cannot ask them to do this. Help and assistance for the driver must be provided on site for delivery, not just to help carry the cartons of flooring into a dry and safe storage area (remember some weigh as much as 38kg) but also to actually sign for the delivery and confirm receipt.
It is vital that your new oak floor is immediately stored in a dry and sheltered area. If it is raining and the flooring is left outside, it will be ruined so it is important to get it inside to safety as quickly as possible. Even if the weather is dry, there is always a risk of your flooring being stolen if it’s left outside.
