Delivery of Your Oak Flooring
Unless local to us in West Wales, we use an external courier network for all oak flooring deliveries, and when the whole delivery service provided is considered, it represents excellent value.
We supply our flooring to customers all over the UK and sometimes even to Ireland and France, meaning that the best, most cost-effective and most simple system is to use a large courier network.
Even though some oak flooring suppliers will lead you to believe they do not charge for delivery, we can assure you that it will be factored in somewhere in the total price because it is a cost to every supplier. Whenever a company is offering free delivery on a like for like product basis, always compare the actual delivered price to see exactly what you will be paying. When you compare our delivered price with companies who are offering free delivery, usually we are still the cheapest, even for the extra quality we supply.
Our couriers collect full pallets from us and deliver UK wide within a couple of days, usually for just £65-£75 per pallet unless delivery is required into London or to some further afield destinations. When you compare our delivered price with companies who are offering free delivery, we will usually be the cheapest still.
Normal delivery is 3 days from order and cleared payment and you can choose a delivery date that suits you during the online order process. We can also offer Next Day delivery in some situations but if you are a fitter, or you are working to a tight schedule, we always recommend that you check availability before committing.
Please also consider that we recommend proper and sufficient acclimatisation of all our flooring before you begin any installation. Please refer to our acclimatisation guide and fitting guide for more information.
Because we use an external courier network for our nationwide deliveries, it is important that you arrange for somebody to be present on the day of delivery to sign for the goods being delivered and accept your new oak floor as being in top condition.
Typically couriers are only insured to deliver ‘kerbside’ (meaning off the side of their vehicle). Having said this, some drivers will help to carry the cartons of flooring into houses and garages but we cannot guarantee this will be the case with every driver, and we cannot ask them to do this. Help and assistance for the driver must be provided on site for delivery, not just to help carry the cartons of flooring into a dry and safe storage area (remember some weigh as much as 38kg) but also to actually sign for the delivery and confirm receipt.
It is vital that your new oak floor is immediately stored in a dry and sheltered area. If it is raining and the flooring is left outside, it will be ruined so it is important to get it inside to safety as quickly as possible. Even if the weather is dry, there is always a risk of your flooring being stolen if it’s left outside.
