Aged Oak Flooring
In order to create the stunning, rustic appearance of our Aged Oak Flooring we use our own processes. When successfully undertaken by our team of experienced carpenters this process gives timber a worn appearance. Producing flooring boards in this way enables our customers to enjoy the aesthetics and feel of genuine rustic oak flooring for a fraction of the price.
In order to achieve this effect our carpenters use a variety of techniques in order to physically age the oak flooring boards appearance. They give our aged oak flooring an authentic milled feel. To achieve this they use rudimentary and rustic hand tools.
A Range Of Finishes
Once our boards have been aged some of our product range undergo surface finishes. Our surface finishes give our flooring boards a number of characteristics dependent on the specific finish which is utilised. Some of our most popular surface finishes which we use on products in our Aged Oak Flooring range include:
- Lacquered: The effect of this surface finish is achieved through the application of several coats of UV lacquer over a primer onto our flooring boards. Once completed this finish gives the flooring boards a shiny satin finish.
- Hand Scraped: This surface finish is achieved using traditional carpentry techniques and each plank is hand scraped and is then colour using either waxoil or a lacquer stain. This process creates a distinguished textured surface which can complement any interior.
- Unfinished: We understand that some people want to appreciate their Aged Oak Flooring boards just as they are. To meet this need we provide unfinished flooring boards. This finish is especially popular as it provides our customers with a blank slate. This can easily be incorporated into their existing interiors.
